Christmas buns with orange, dried fruit, and cocktail cherries

IT is almost here. Christmas is just around the corner and the festivities have truly begun. Today, we've enjoyed these wonderful Christmas buns; soft, sweet, and filled with orange zest, dried fruit, and cocktail cherries – colorful and delicious. On top, a layer of cinnamon sugar, making them crispy on top and adding an extra touch of Christmas.

Ingredients

  • 75 gram Butter
  • 250 gram Milk
  • 25 gram Yeast
  • 1 pcs. Egg
  • 42.5 gram Sugar
  • 75 gram Cocktail Berries chopped
  • 50 gram Orange Candied
  • gram Raisins
  • 4 gram Orange Peel dried

Brushing

  • 1 pcs. Egg beaten
  • 25 gram Cinnamon Sugar

Instructions

  • Melt the butter and put it in a bowl with the milk. Dissolve the yeast in the warm mixture.
  • Whisk the eggs and sugar into the mixture.
  • Fold in the cocktail cherries, candied orange peel, raisins, and orange zest into the bowl and also add the flour.
  • Stir everything together well and knead the dough on a floured surface. The dough should be firm and elastic but can be slightly sticky.
  • Shape the dough into buns and place them in an ovenproof dish or on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Brush with egg and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius (392 degrees Fahrenheit) – until the buns are golden and cooked through.
