Carbonara

A classic from the Italian kitchen that delights every time! The combination of onions, bacon, eggs, and cream is fantastic, and the fact that the dish is also easy and quick to make is just an extra plus.

Ingredients

  • 500 gram Spaghetti choose a good, dried variety
  • 200 gram Bacon Preferably a whole piece, which you cut yourself
  • 2 pcs. Onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 4 pcs. Egg Yolk optional pasteurized
  • 250 gram Cream optional coffee or cooking cream
  • Salt
  • Pepper freshly ground
  • Oil for frying
  • Parmesan grated parmesan for serving

Instructions

  • Cut onions, garlic, and bacon into cubes. Brown everything in a pan until the mixture is golden and fully cooked. Add a little oil during frying if necessary.
  • Whisk egg yolks and cream together with salt and pepper.
  • Cook the pasta in lightly salted water according to the package instructions.
  • Drain the pasta and immediately mix it with the onion-bacon mixture and the egg-cream mixture. Toss thoroughly to combine well. Grind fresh pepper over.
  • Serve with grated parmesan cheese as a garnish.
