Bacon "snow"

Ingredients

  • 100 gram Bacon
  • Zorbit Can be purchased from various places online

Instructions

  • Zorbit can be used to make "snow" from fatty liquids, such as olive oil or even Nutella.
  • We chose to make it from our favorite, homemade bacon.
  • In this case, we fried the bacon in a pan and separated the bacon and the bacon fat into 2 bowls.
  • While the bacon fat cools down, you can go ahead and eat the bacon, which (believe it or not) will not be used further in this recipe.
  • When the fat has cooled down a bit, it needs to be mixed with Zorbit. Since Zorbit is similar to potato starch and reacts differently depending on humidity and temperature, we cannot provide an exact amount to be used.
  • What you do is put the fat in a large bowl and whisk in a teaspoon of Zorbit at a time. Slowly and steadily, the liquid thickens and ends up as a powder.
  • The powder tastes like bacon, but the texture is quite indescribable since the bacon flavor usually comes in other forms.
