Equipment

  • Meat Mincer (Option 1)
  • Food Processor (Option 2)
  • Pot

Ingredients

  • 400 gram Chickpeas Must be soaked
  • 1 bunch Broad leaf parsley
  • 2 bunches Parsley
  • 2 pcs. Onion
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 1 pcs. Chili Fresh
  • 5 gram Cilantro Ground
  • 10 gram Cumin Ground
  • 18 gram Salt
  • 2 pcs. Lemon The juice
  • 4 tbsp Grate
  • 3 pcs. Egg
  • 1 l Frying Oil Or rapeseed oil

Instructions

  • Important! Remember to soak the chickpeas in water overnight. If you use canned chickpeas, the mixture will be very soft and will not hold together.
  • Use either a meat grinder or a food processor to mix the ingredients.
  • 1. Put all the ingredients in the meat grinder or food processor (except the eggs and oil), and run until it comes together into a mass. It doesn't need to be very fine, but the chickpeas should preferably not be whole, as the mixture will then fall apart
  • 2. Season with extra spices or lemon juice if you think it lacks a bit
  • 3. Add the eggs and blend it with the mixture
  • 4. Form into balls the size of golf balls
  • 5. Put the oil in a small pot, and heat it to 170 degrees Celsius (338 degrees Fahrenheit)
  • 6. Now carefully put 4-5 falafels in at a time and let them be in the oil for 3 minutes
  • Now they are ready to be eaten in your favorite dish ? Store them in the fridge or freeze them for later use.
