Recipe for pickled red onions
Quick-pickled red onions are a delicious and easy side dish for many different things.
Use them as a side dish for meat, on open-faced sandwiches, or in salads.
The onions can keep for a long time in the fridge, so feel free to make a large batch when you’re at it.

Ingredients
- 4 pcs. Red Onion
- 200 gram Vinegar
- 170 gram Sugar preferably cane sugar
- 5 pcs. Peppercorns
- 3 pcs. Whole cloves can be omitted
Instructions
- Briefly boil the vinegar, sugar, cloves, and peppercorns until the sugar has dissolved. Slice the red onions into thin rings and place them in a pickling jar. Pour the brine over the onions and let it cool. Store the jar in the refrigerator; the pickled onions will last about 1-2 months.
