Recipe for pear cake

The pear cake is a basic cake that can be varied in countless ways.

Instead of pear, you can use different types of berries, plums, peaches, cherries – you name it!

You can also add citrus zest, vanilla, or cocoa.

It’s fun to make with children because they can experiment with the flavor since it is so simple.

Ingredients

  • 4 pcs. Egg
  • 120 gram Sugar
  • 100 gram Wheat Flour
  • Salt 3 turns from the mill
  • 1 can Pear Or 4-5 fresh pears - possibly 50/50

Instructions

  • 1.    Find a large bowl, a deep plate, a scale, and an electric mixer.
  • 2.    Crack the eggs into the bowl.
  • 3.    Weigh the sugar in the deep plate and pour it into the large bowl.
  • 4.    Whisk the eggs and sugar into a fluffy cream.
  • 5.    Weigh the flour in the deep plate and pour it into the large bowl.
  • 6.    Add salt and stir.
  • 7.    Preheat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius (338 degrees Fahrenheit) fan oven.
  • 8.    There are 2 options - canned pears or fresh pears:
  • A) Take the pears out of the can and dab them with paper towels until they are almost dry.
  • OR 
  • B) Rinse the fresh pears and cut them into quarters.
  • 9.    Place the pears in an ovenproof dish and pour the batter over them.
  • 10.    Bake the cake in the middle of the oven for 30 minutes.

Notes

Tip: You can use any fruit you like or bake the cake without it and then serve it with fresh berries!
