Recipe for oatmeal balls with rum
Oatmeal Balls – Only for Adults! 😉
Oatmeal balls are a staple of any Christmas, and of course, there should be the good, “strong” kind for adults and the more kid-friendly ones.
In this version, I’ve used a really nice, dark rum – so they’re definitely not very kid-friendly! You can always omit the rum if you want to cater to both the grown-ups and the little ones – or you can simply make two different versions.
This time, I experimented with four different types of sprinkles. Three of them were super good, while both my husband and I weren’t so keen on the freeze-dried berries. It’s a matter of taste, so maybe they’ll be just right for you 🙂

Ingredients
- 200 gram Oatmeal
- 125 gram Butter soft
- 125 gram Sugar
- 4 gram Vanilla Sugar
- 30 gram Cocoa powder
- 50 gram Marzipan
- 60 gram Coffee brewed
- Salt a touch
- 28 gram Rome dark
- 200 gram sprinkle I used tivoli sprinkles, coconut flakes, sugar, and freeze-dried berries
Instructions
- I made this recipe in a bowl and used an electric mixer. However, I think you could easily use a stand mixer for it.
- All ingredients (except rum and sprinkles) were blended together into a uniform mass.
- Then it was seasoned with rum. Use just 1 tbsp. if you "just" want a bit of depth, and you can easily go up to 3 tbsp. if you want it more boozy.
- Roll them all into balls - I made about 30 pieces from the recipe.
- Then roll them in your desired sprinkles - I used 4 different varieties.
