
Recipe for tomato salsa with chipotle
Delicious tomato salsa that brings thoughts of Mexico. The key to achieving a good and deep flavor is to give the tomatoes plenty of heat before blending them with a chipotle chili.
It can be made quickly and well in advance.

Tomato Salsa with Chipotle
Equipment
- Blender
- Chef'S Knife
- Cutting Board
- Pot (option 1)
- Frying Pan (option 2)

Ingredients
- 1 can Chopped Tomatoes or 4 large sun-ripened tomatoes
- 1 pcs. Onion
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 1/2 pcs. Lime
- 2 gram Cumin
- 1 gram Chopped coriander
- 1 gram Cilantro fresh
- 1 pcs. Chili chipotle en adobo (from can)
- Salt
Instructions
- Peel and coarsely chop the onions
- Peel the garlic
- Heat a pot or pan on high heat
- Sauté the onions and garlic for a couple of minutes – if using fresh tomatoes, halve them and sauté those as well. Everything can get some black spots
- Remove the pot from the heat and transfer the vegetables to a blender
- Add juice from ½ lime, cumin, fresh and ground coriander, and chipotle + some of the sauce it is in
- Blend everything for 1-2 min. and pour it back into the pot
- Let it simmer for 20 min. on medium-low heat
- After the salsa has cooked, remove it from the heat and pour it into a bowl
- Season with salt and sugar to taste
